10pm – FILM
Manhattan, Woody Allen, USA, 1979

Original version in English with Spanish subtitles

Isaac Davis is a middle-aged man with a job he hates, a seventeen-year-old girl-friend he doesn’t love, and a lesbian ex-wife he would gladly strangle because she is writing a book about their private life. Then he meets Mary, his best friend’s attractive, rather snobbish date, and falls madly in love with her. Leaving his girlfriend, taking Mary to bed and leaving his job signifies a new start for our hero.

In this iconic film, Woody Allen not only depicts his own personal, intimate Manhattan, but practically makes the city one of his characters.
