Nebraska, Alexander Payne, USA, 2013

Woody Grant, an old man with symptoms of dementia, learns by mail that he has won a prize. Believing that he has become rich, he forces his son David to drive him to Nebraska to collect his winnings. The journey will serve to change a relationship badly damaged by Woody’s alcoholism.

One of the surprises of 2014, Nebraska is a bittersweet delight filmed in elegant black and white, demonstrating that Bruce Dern may now be in his eighties, but he is in great form as an actor.
