Frances Ha, Noah Baumbach, USA, 2012

Frances Halladay is a 27-year-old girl whose dream is to join a New York dance company. She is happy and unconcerned about her lot in life, even though she would like to have so much more than she has.

A modern-day fable about friendship, youth and ambition, an optimistic, energising film whose director pays tribute to François Truffaut and early Woody Allen.
